This building is the result of converting two fisherman’s houses into one, bought by Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931), in 1893. After the alterations by Francesc Rogent, the painter and playwright brought his various collections, turning his study in Sitges into the activities centre for the Catalonian art nouveau movement. The ground floor houses the kitchen-dining room, the bedroom, his workshop and a room overlooking the sea where his collections of ceramics and paintings, which include works by Picasso, Ramón Casas and other naturalists and symbolists, are located. The top floor houses the collection of wrought iron, glass and even more paintings, where two magnificent works by El Greco are highlighted.
