The birthplace of Captain Juan de San Martín, father of General San Martín, liberator of Argentina, follows the traditional style of a farmhouse in Tierra de Campos. It consists of two main areas: one for housing and one for livestock, recreating the characteristic atmosphere of the General’s Castilian roots. On them, the furniture and ethnographic objects from the eighteenth century are exhibited. The kitchen displays an oven with utensils for baking bread and the bedrooms are equipped with “trébedes” (three-legged iron structures for heating pans) to warm winter nights.
