The house belonged to Miguel Pérez, businessman, carpenter and cabinetmaker closely involved in the public life. The building, built between 1926 and 1932, conserves its original art nouveau and art deco decoration, besides being designed and constructed in the owner’s workshops, which were annexed to the house. Among the domestic rooms on the ground floor, the music room, the main dining room and the gallery or smoking room stand out; on the first floor, the bedrooms and the bathroom with art nouveau style. There are spaces dedicated to the works of various local artists, and the Literature Classroom “El fulgor de la Memoria” (the brightness of Memory) devoted to poet and journalist Victoriano Crémer. It houses the cultural headquarters of the Carriegos Foundation.
