The Cave Museum and Interpretation Center "Cuevas de Guadix" (Caves of Guadix) allows an approach to the lifestyle of its people in a not too distant past. Inhabited until the early eighties (twentieth century), it recreates the domestic life of underground or troglodyte houses, rooted in the north of the region since the sixteenth century for historical and cultural reasons and by the terrain’s characteristics. It consists of courtyard and well, hall, kitchen, larder, stable, pigsty, pantry and bedrooms, plus several showrooms. It displays a good collection of artifacts and garments used in crafts, festivals, agricultural and livestock industries of Guadix. The exhibition evokes feelings and images that help the visitor to immerse in this habitat: sounds, smells and images that give life to the house-cave.
