The house of Blas Infante is part of the Andalusian “Museo de la Autonomía” (the museum of the Province). As it was designed by Infante himself, the house bears his personal mark, and it’s where he lived his last years. Called the “Casa de la Alegría” (House of Happiness), by the Father of the Andalusian Homeland, it recreates elements from different historic periods: decorative Hispanic-Muslim battlements, “andalusi” (from Al-Andalus, Moorish Iberia from 711 to 1492) inspired plasterwork and windows, and interiors inspired by “andalusi” architecture and by the historicist school of thought of the Sevillian regionalism on the early twentieth century. The house, included in the BIC (a national register of historic and cultural assets), is an accessible location and it promotes the figure of Blas Infante.
